Hello, Reader-senpai!
I have absolutely no idea what “Summer of Senpai” is.
I’m not going to dwell on this for too long but as you may or may not know, every time I have had plans to do something with the Seriously Senpai brand, horrible things happen to me. I even wrote a post on this very site at the beginning of the year, laying out things I’d like to do, only to immediately have things go wrong.
So here’s the plan this time around, NO PLANS! We’re going to totally wing this and whatever it turns out to be by the end, we’ll point back at it and say “yeah, that’s what it was meant to be from the start. Very cool!”
Hopefully, by doing things this way, I can get back into the flow of working on this series, the game, the stories and this site without getting hit by a truck or something. Fingers crossed!
So here’s something you haven’t seen before for our Day 1 entry. It’s a scene that got cut from Seriously Senpai! STAT!! featuring Miley and Chief having lunch together!
The original idea was for this to be a semi-optional scene that would unlock if you were doing particularly well, late into the game’s schedule. Chief doesn’t normally eat at the local cafeteria but today she forgot to bring a packed lunch, so she would invite you to spend your lunch time with her. Miley, if the player accepts the invitation, takes the rare opportunity to be the more knowledgeable of the two girls and flex her nutrition expertise.
I believe Chief might be diabetic or have a peanut allergy or something, I’ll have to check my notes on that. Miley, a vegetarian who is keenly aware of the ins-and-outs of the a cafeteria, as well being more aware of Chief’s dietary needs than I am, helps her senior through her meal. The two end up having a good time and Miley manages to impress Chief, if just a tiny bit.
The three sketches here were all potential candidates to be turned into a full CG. As with all of our CG’s, these were drawn and envisioned by Lairis (PumpkinFriend).
Simply put, we were in the process of winding down our work together and this ending up getting cut before letting it wreck up our schedules. I would still like to do something with the idea, so a possible reworking of the scene may still end up in the game, in a form other than a CG scene.

And that’s Day 1! Does a numbered day imply I’m going to be doing something every day? Almost certainly not! Will I number the days by entry or by the day of summer? That sounds like planning, Reader-senpai! Best to stop thinking and just enjoy this ride. Try not to hit me, please!
P.S. This is also kind of the official grand opening of the site? As mentioned before, I wanted to do something a little more grand but that requires an amount of planning that will surely get me killed. So instead, we’re just going to kind of open it.
